Beat the Palpitations

“1000” sandblasters contribute to the more poetic sound associated with the vibration of the sea and the earth.. and may be part of the earlier experimental film Waveswaterwall from 2023.

The composition 1000 O “Beat the Palpitations” is inspired by the sound vibrations of a didgeridoo, an aerophone, that produces a sound element with vocal and fundamental frequency effects, and visualizes an emotional “human cosmos”.

October 2024 Baraba-pe performs her marimba composition and transforms it into an electronic tube wave sound.

BARBARA Swiss filmmaker and visual artist, runs her own one-man company, Atelier a./f. and produces experimental, poetic and sound film projects that have participated in over 100 film festivals worldwide.

THE CORMORANT's Shadow

This 1-minute animation is the first in a series of super-short animations that combine perfectly with all types of presentations as they give a relaxed impression of involvement. The animation's interactive relationship with birds illustrates the challenges of environmental adaptation that all species face in life.

Composition for a virtual orchestra of violins, double basses, organs, drums and other virtual instruments mixed up with  Foley recordings 


The castaway is literally pulverized and laminated by monstrous waves and transformed into a tsunami when he comes into contact with the white hole of the ocean. Poetic verses and voices evoke this traumatic destiny.

The Castaway 

Memory storage, retrieval and recordings form the testimony of the castaway struggling with his own perception, and sound and images overlap to form poetic words of recollection, in most cases the voice of a melancholy teller, punctuated by pounding waves and distortions of beat and music.


The idea of the mystery and secrets of the oceans could be that the unknown is still amazing and terrifying origins. Large letters over more than 50 verses and lines emphasize the harsh forces or heroic fantasy of the mysterious episodes punctuated by the roaring, rocking waves and orchestral waterfalls; inspired by the poem of " The Castaway from WavesWaterWall"

In reality, the virtual instruments are 100 % convincing mixing up with all kind of Foley , noise, harmonizing with adequate compressions and limitation without loOsing the main characteristics of the hammering, fingerling stroking... instrumental capacities. .. clip and visual animation

Being magnetized by the staging of the Blatte Battle, a sound rehearsal, the fantasy cockroach desperately tries to keep its colorful body together until the end.

The intention is to reflect on transformation with an artistic focus on loss and suffering, a new kind of robotic animation or a hybrid form of live organisms, but do you have ever heard an insect sing or cry outside of animated films.

Periplaneta's double bass and wood-like body conducts in harmonious rowing movements with the 6 gripping arms: touch, search, feel and pluck... they create improvisation with balancing intervals generated by the middle articulations. Attention was focused on the 3 x 2 paired claw divisions, which could be a mechanical representation for human sound interpretation.



SO_MONT               a melancholic backdrop melody

The sound influences the visual and so there is an additional sound filter, a black passe-partout with the function of creating a sound image, a melancholic backdrop melody, through an "air channel". The composition is reminiscent of hand organ movements, the film of a slowly recurring handling of light.

SNSHN a glimmering call for SNOWSHINE

SNSHN scores are supposed to be the visual medium of the sculptor of light; the jingles are like the hammering of the sculptor, demonstrating self-confident life affirmation of the narrators and dialogues for a sound pattern: wishes. Ghostly voices of musical instruments contribute to the animation of this experimental project. The steps of the ghosts and the cameramen exclamation from them, as a phantom vision, a fantasy that calls to the screen from off-screen, from where different scenes emerge and can manifest themselves as they were wishes in reverb and echoes from the alien tellers voices.

MI DI WORM No. 10         Abstract MIDI notes and playful silence


The abstract worms in yellow may have three last attempts to call all together with ironic and exotic whistles and rattling noises. The red background seems to float and disappear in the dark.

The animation of yellow worms and cyan dots on red carpet is created with visual effects of 2-stop motion for a sound pattern. The dots stand out, as they would be a fantastic set of notes, virtually painted to be heard. The flickering, wiggling ramifications of the yellow color animate strokes on red background resembling a stereoscopic recording.

PASSI , consists entirely of recorded Foley effects and offers a captivating mix of all kinds of sounds and noises that have been harmonized with the help of suitable compressors and limiters, without, however, masking the main characteristics of the hammer, the strike, the noises behind the scenes, the stomping of the doors, and all kinds of sound effects that deceive the visual animation.
